About us

The Practice

The Beginning

The practice was founded in 1996 by Tushar Desai who served his time at some of the UK’s leading Accountancy firms. He set up his practice originally from home, moved to leased premises in Harpenden and, with the expansion of the practice, eventually to our purpose built offices in St Albans.

Values

Our core values have always been, and will remain, to offer our clients the highest level of customer service at a price that suits their pocket. To do this, we make full use of technology and encourage you to do the same.

Quality

Our standards will never be compromised. In recognition of this, Hanburys has been awarded ACCA Quality Checked seal of approval from The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Training

Our staff are encouraged to undergo relevant approved training towards their professional qualifications, with full study support provided. To enable our qualified employees and directors to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of accounting and taxation issues, continuous professional development is necessary and is achieved through attendance of professional seminars and reading of technical publications.

By continually updating our knowledge, we are able to offer the best possible service and advice to our clients. For this, Hanburys has received the award of Approved Employer from the ACCA in recognition of the support provided to ACCA students and members who are training towards ACCA Practising Certificate.

Objectives

Our intention over the coming years is to encourage our clients to use Hanburys as a ‘one stop shop’ for all business related issues and be viewed more as a Business Associate rather than the Archetypical Accountant.

Customer Care

Our fees are very competitive; we respond to client requests; we are proactive in offering advice; our clients know their best interests are foremost in our actions; we are always looking at new ideas to reduce our costs; and, they believe their success is ultimately our success.

We also offer a free meeting for all prospective clients, because we appreciate that you need to be comfortable with us (and us with you!).
